Save the Cheerleader. Save the World.

Afishionados,
Holy crap I just found out tonight that HEROES season one is available on DVD now. I found it at Wal-Mart while I made a mad dash for some coax cable. So go get it while it’s still on sale (the DVD, not the coax cable). It’s one of the best television shows on right now (which, depending on your point of view, may not be saying a whole lot).
The plot in a nutshell is this: An eclipse of the earth leads various people all over the world to suddenly discover that they haver super powers. Most people have just one specific ability, but there are exceptions to the rules :-X. These “heroes” must come together to stop a mysterious villain and to save the world from a nuclear attack that takes place in the future.
It may sound corny, and honestly, it is a little. But come on, what super hero story isn’t cheesy? If you like LOST but are turned off by the way that you simply MUST watch every episode in order to keep up with its enigmatic plot, then HEROES is for you. It’s got the same kinda “What the FUCK is going on here?” sense to it, but, for the most part, you get your answers sooner than later.
This is one of my favorite shows, and it’s refreshing to see a series as awesome as this hit the airwaves to “compete; with so many atrocious reality TV programs.
Four-and-a-Half really tight Tights out of Five.
If you1 still need a reason to see HEROES, Hayden Panettiere is now 18 years old. Woo hoo!

1 A.K.A. Joey Polanski

I guess we’ll get it here sometime. Like next century…
Jack Baur could stop the nuclear attack by himself. He doesn’t need a bunch of “heroturds”.
Ehh, I’ve never cared for that show.
Well … I havent made it a point to watch a TV series since West Wing (best show o ALL TIME) went off th air; but yer likening Heroes to Lost gimms me reasn to be intrested. I dont watch Lost; but a friend o mine lent me seasns 1 & 2 on DVD and I thoroughly enjoyd em BOFE. (Thats what I was doin, day & night, durin that EXTREMELY long hiatus ovr at JPS in Juneski.)
P.S. AngryMan dont like any show unlessn it gets CANCELLD.
Anaglyph: It’s worth the wait, IMHO.
C.Rag: I have never seen 24, but have heard good things. Do you think it’s as good as all the hype?
AngryMan: No one cares about your opinions and feelings here. No one.
Joey: Holy shit, Joey, I didn’t know that you liked LOST. I fucking love that show. If you thought seasons one and two were cool, just WAIT until the last episode of season 3. It will blow your fucking mind. I think you’ll definitely like Heroes.
Yeah. Season 3 o Lost becomes available on DVD in Decembr. Ive avoided all info about th show since I finishd watchin Season 2. Watchin th show while knowin NOTHIN bout what was “really” happnin was a ABSOLUTE DELIGHT fer me. (You can see why I was so long absent in th blogassfear durin June.)
BTW: I had th same problem Mike had, when I tryd to access OFaL in th normal way. And wif my tempramentl browsr, th “freeze up” demands that I reboot my whole friggin computr. My MSN browsr may be “jackd,” but I think theres clearly sompm odd goin on ovr at yer endski.
Now I accessd th Fish in th normal way wif no freeze up. While th page was loadin, a dialog-box appeard relatin to updatin Quick-Time. I suspeckt that th freeze-up was a freeze-up in th loadin o that dialog box.
I dunno if that info helps.
Jedi:
You care about what I think, you know you do. You just hate how much fucking smarter I am than you. Also that I have better taste.
Oh, and LOST needs to get lost and get the hell off of ABC. It is hella, hella weak. Just like you are hella, hella lame. If you, Jedi, weren’t such a turd, you’d know that.
Okay…I got in via the link you posted over at Joey’s.
I only watch porn and nothing else.
Im still battin only .500, though — access-wise.
Had anothr browsr-freeze wif my reggalr browsr, and a close call wif Firefox.
Another perk to Heroes is that if you happen to miss an episode you can go to NBC.com and watch the full episode for free and with A 30 sec commercial between each part (usually six per episode). Best damn show I’ve watched in a long time.
Smoove as silk — that time.
